Annual Leaders’ Conference…..and Elvis too!

Beginning on Tuesday of next week the annual conference will take place here at the Baptist church in Huaraz. This will be the 8th consecutive year and the excitement is growing. This is always a special time as we will all be renewing friendships and hearing the Word. We are excited that Dr. Joselito Orellana and Dr. David Sills will again be teaching and preaching.
1. Pray for safe travel for the attendees, the folks from Ingleside Church in Macon, GA and the speakers.
2. Pray that the strike will be over and that they can get here!
3. Pray for understanding of the material that will be presented.
4. Pray that all will leave encouraged and renewed.

And yes, Elvis will be here again, traveling all the way from the jungle!

McCall - South Carolina Team - On the Road Again

The McCall team has been serving in the Ocros District since early August. Pray for their health and safety as they return to serve in Cajamarquilla and Rajan until mid-December. It is raining here as if it were January and it is difficult to negotiate the mountain roads. Also they request that you pray for the people they will encounter. Pray for open hearts and that they will have a desire to know the Truth the team will bring to them.

Yauyos Quechua

This past week a team from Mississippi, Texas, Ohio and Peru traveled to the Yauyos Province south of Lima to conduct medical clinics, teach the children and to minister. Despite a teacher’s strike and an area wide sports event the trip went well. One of the highlights was discipleship training with a faithful and attentive group of Believers and house church leaders from various communities. Please pray for Rudy, Noé, Angel, Marcelo, Delila, Rocio, Margot and Janet as they continue to meet and study God’s word. Pray they will remain faithful as they face persecution from those who do not yet know God’s Truths. Pray for Percy and Maura as they continue to guide, encourage and disciple them. There are about 6,500 Yauyos Quechua speakers remaining and it is very unlikely they will ever see the Word in their heart language. Pray that they will be able to understand His Word in spite of this.

Ridge, Chillicothe and Lifepoint

The team representing Ridge, Chillicothe and Lifepoint churches has arrived safely and are now serving in Pararin, Tapacocha and Cotoparaco. They have already been welcomed with open arms! This is a vision trip for the Ridge crew. Pray for them as they discern God's will for them in missions whether it be Peru or another part of the world. Pray for the leaders of the 3 groups as they make many decisions this week concerning the ministry.

Training Pastors and Leaders

This week a team of 5 from Ingleside Church of Macon, Georgia and 3 from Training Pastors International will be serving in the Santa Cruz District. Ingleside has been a long-time partner here in the Huaylas Valley and are now implementing their exit strategy. As they do so, they are offering an on-site seminary for pastors and leaders.
Pray:  for the leaders of the district - that they will commit and be faithful to this unique opportunity. Pray for wisdom and guidance for Jaime H. as he leads the TPI team. There is a lot of unrest here. Pray that the impending strikes will not prohibit the teams as they travel each day to the training site. Pray for our translators: Erick, Humberta and Carlos. Pray for the Ingleside team: David, Robert, Cortney, Jamie and Janice.
