Continuing To Build

Arriving on Tuesday will be the first of two teams from the South Fork Association of North Carolina. They will be serving in the city of Caraz and working with a local church there. Since becoming a partner in 2009 they have built many relationships in the community.
                                                     ~Team prayer requests ~
Pray for us to be spiritually prepared,
                                                         for traveling mercies,
                                                          and receptive hearts!

First, We Pray

As we begin what we consider to be the busier time of the year, I am asking for you to pray for our U.S. teams who are serving here in the Huaylas Valley. These churches and individuals have made a huge commitment, both personal and financial. Some sacrifice a great deal to come 3 or 4 times a year.

Ingleside Church, Macon, GA – led by David serving in Santa Cruz, Huaylas and Macate
South Fork Association,  Lincolnton, NC – led by Ken, Bartley & Krystle serving in Caraz
FBC Jesup, GA – led by Mike & Creston in Yungay
Ebenezer BC, Hillsborough, NC  – led by Phillip and RenĂ© serving in Recuay and the surrounding area.
Lifepoint Church and partnering with them The Ridge Church & Chillicothe BC in Ohio - led by Jonathan, Steve and Shane - serving in Tapacocha, Cotaparaco & Pararin

Also lift up Colonial Heights Baptist Church (Ridgeland, MS), a team from my home area. They are led by long time partners, Randy and Gene.
Pray for:
1. Continued guidance by the Holy Spirit in their efforts.
2. Wisdom as they plan and execute the necessary strategy to reach and disciple the lost.
3. Deeper relationships with their Peruvian partners and leaders

I know these folks will appreciate your prayers.
Please share this with your praying brothers and sisters in Christ.
Dios bedicishunki!

Work continues in Caraz

A couple of weeks ago, a team from the South Fork Association (North Carolina) ministered in Caraz. While there doors began to open. Two of the team members, pictured above, stayed behind to continue the work. Since then they have continued to conduct Bible studies, teach in the schools, show the Jesus film and build relationships with town officials, the police and just about everyone else they encounter. Pray these relationships will grow even stronger and that people will see the love of Christ in Bartley and Krystle.
(Pictured above – Bartley and Krystle with local policemen. This is rather unusual as police usually refuse to have their photo taken. Perhaps Bartley bribed them with ice cream.)

Pray for Caraz

This week we will be working with Pastors Ken and Jonathan and from North Carolina along with our translator, Tavo. We will be in the northern extreme of the Huaylas Valley. While there we will be prayer walking, engaging people on the street and setting up a crusade for February 2011. We also hope to spend time with 2 new Believers at the hotel where we will be staying.  Pray for the pastors and the translators as they seek to share the Gospel with the people in Caraz. Pray for the people we will encounter.

Please pass this on to other prayer warriors.
